This course provides an introduction to mathematical modelling and the role and advantages of quantitative and dynamical approaches in biology.  

Level: 2 Constituent elements: Lectures - 15 hours (3 ECTS), Assignments (2x25 hours) - 50 hours (2 ECTS)

Topics: Basics about mathematical models in biomedical research; Mathematical modelling of kinetic pathways; Stochastic models and sensitivity analysis; Diffusion problems; Modules and control mechanisms; Robustness and fragility of biochemical networks; Data driven and statistical models.
